She told me the wedding venue was ‘Rose Garden Palace’, but when we got to Moga, people said there was no such place. When I called her I did, she told me to wait and her relatives will take us to the spot. When no one came, I called again and asked her to go near Geeta building. He said that Manpreet had asked for help in the wedding expenses and handed over Rs 50,000.
Prem Chand, the father of the bridegroom, said that he arranged the marriage by talking to the bride’s mother over the phone, but could not meet anyone from the family in person.

“We will identify the woman using her phone number and check her call records. The groom and his family reached the police station after waiting for about five hours, but no one came to pick them up. The bride and groom met on Instagram, and the marriage was fixed over the phone,” said the ASI.
