Kanguwa, one of the most talked about movies of 2024, hit the screens on November 14. Even though the film released with sky-high expectations, Team Kangua was immediately flogged due to mixed responses. Unfortunately, the film also found itself at the center of a controversy surrounding allegations of negative campaigns aimed at preventing it from reaching its potential. Kanguwa was also in the limelight after the film’s reviews prompted the Tamil Film Active Producers Council to ban social media reviews. Amidst all this, Kangwa is slated for its OTT release on December 8.
KangwaDirector Siva’s first collaboration with Suriya, will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The streamer captioned the announcement poster, “A story as old as time and a legacy that lives on. Here comes Kangua to set things right.” The poster mentions that the film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, but there is no update on when the Hindi version will be released.

Kanguwa, which revolves around two timelines between 1070 AD and the present, tells a story about a generational bond between a tribal warrior and a young boy. This big budget movie has performed less than expected and the makers are hoping that the streaming audience will like the movie more.
With music by Devi Sri Prasad, and cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, Kanguva marked the Tamil debut of Bobby Deol, who played the primary antagonist, and Disha Patani, who played Suriya’s love interest in the present-day episodes. Incidentally, due to the criticism about the duration of Kangua and the reaction of the present part, the makers trimmed the film after its release.

Most scenes in between the sun And the direction was cut, and the makers also accepted the loudness of the film and reduced it by two points. So, netizens are waiting to see if the streaming version is the original version of Kangwa or the trimmed one.
