Tarari, Bihar:
Maintaining that he “made a mistake twice” in the past by joining hands with the RJD, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said he will now permanently stay with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Addressing a public meeting in favor of BJP’s Vishal Prashant, NDA candidate for Tarari Assembly by-election, Kumar said, “I have said before… I will say again that we (BJP-JDU) were together before. Twice in the past I made a mistake by joining hands with RJD… In the past, I went ‘here on loan’ twice but now I have come back to NDA, I will stay with NDA permanently.
He said, “We have been working for the development of Bihar since 2005. After 2005, many infrastructure and development works have been done in Bihar…..and this will continue under the NDA regime.”
Kumar accused the RJD of trying to “polarise” the state’s upcoming by-elections on “communal lines”.
“They (RJD) always try to create division on communal lines. When RJD was in power in Bihar, the state witnessed many communal conflicts. But, now with NDA in power, the situation is completely different. I am confident that the people will support Bharat Bloc in the upcoming by-elections in the state. Will give a proper answer,” he said.
Four assembly seats in Bihar will hold by-elections on November 13, the results of which will be announced on November 23.
All four Assembly seats fell vacant when the MLAs they represented were elected to the Lok Sabha. Ramgarh, Tarari, Belaganj and Imamganj are the four seats to be contested.
