New Delhi:

Demonizing constitutional institutions and lecturing people is fast becoming “fun”, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Saturday and warned that such actions were a recipe for chaos.

He also said that even those who are “constitutionally important in the political arena” are “preaching to everyone and corrupting our constitutional institutions”.

Addressing a program at an educational institution here, the Vice President said, “It is time to say goodbye”.

“Also, I say very modestly – it is time for our elite to become an elite. I appeal to them – to become a worthy elite, you should be motivated by nationalism,” he said without naming anyone.

Dhankhar also spoke about the important role of alumni in strengthening the educational ecosystem, urging active participation and contribution to alumni associations.

“Alumni of an institution are its lifeline in many ways. I strongly urge for an alumni fund. Making annual contributions is all important. Some of the best institutions globally are on the upward trajectory because these institutions are the fuel. Alumni energy,” he said. .

The Vice President said trade, industry, business and trade associations should also come forward to encourage research and innovation through generous financial contributions.
