Allu Arjun’s much awaited premiere Pushpa 2 Wednesday night took a tragic turn at Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroads in Hyderabad when A 39-year-old woman diedHis nine-year-old son was seriously injured in the stampede. The child is now admitted to the hospital. The event drew a huge crowd at the theatre, with Allu Arjun himself present during the chaos.
Mithri Movie Makers, the producer of the movie, has issued a statement and promised to support the bereaved family. A statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), read, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that happened during last night’s screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment. We stand by them and do everything possible during this difficult time. It is with deep regret that we are committed to extending cooperation.”

The victim was identified as M Revathi, who attended the premiere with her husband M Bhaskar, their son and seven-year-old daughter. According to the police, the stampede took place when the gate of the theater collapsed due to the pressure of the crowd.
M Bhaskar, distraught over the loss of his wife and his son’s critical condition, narrated the harrowing ordeal in a video. He explained how the chaos spread, “When Allu Arjun arrived, the crowd suddenly swelled, and I was separated from my wife and son. My daughter and I were outside, while Revathi and our son were inside. Initially, when I called, she said they were inside. But later his phone was switched off. I left him at my relative’s place. By then some people showed me a video, and I recognized them It was informed that Durgabai Deshmukh was taken to hospital.There was news that her body was taken to Gandhi Hospital as she passed away at around 2 pm.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is the 2021 sequel to the blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rise, which won Allu Arjun the National Award for Best Actor in 2023. Directed by Sukumar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles.
