Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed senior officials to identify those creating unrest in Sambhal, put up their posters and compensate them for property damage.
Adityanath has given directions to review law and order in various districts and to resolve revenue disputes by holding meetings with relevant officials.
Senior field officers including Divisional Commissioners, Zonal ADGs of Police, District Magistrates, Range IGs and Superintendents of Police participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Some important instructions issued by the Chief Minister in the meeting:
- Be it Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Sambhal or any other district, no one will be allowed to spread chaos. Strict action should be taken against those involved in recent incidents in Sambhal. The maintenance expenses of the public property incurred by the nuisance should be recovered from them. Identify those responsible for creating unrest, put up their posters, seek public support, and conduct extensive search operations. No criminal should escape.
- The issue of public space encroachment is sensitive. Everyone should understand that roads are for movement and not for storing construction materials, creating private parking spaces, setting up shops or any unauthorized occupation. Such actions will not be tolerated.
- 6th December marks Mahaparinirvana Day of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar. Many organizations will express their gratitude to him through processions and gatherings. However, some “disruptive elements” may try to disturb the peace. Considering the sensitivity of the date, all the districts should make a comprehensive arrangement. Implement a sector system and ensure that no untoward incident takes place anywhere.
- December 25 will be observed as ‘Good Governance Day’ to mark the centenary birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This day also coincides with Christmas, and shortly thereafter, New Year’s Eve on December 31 and January 1. Ensure that the celebrations remain peaceful without any law and order problems. Encourage fun celebrations, but ensure respect for everyone’s beliefs and maintain an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
- Applications received through IGRS, CM Helpline, or complaints at police stations, tehsils, or development blocks, should address each case. Understand the mindset of the afflicted, respect their feelings and solve their problems with utmost sensitivity.
- Prayagraj Mahakumbh is scheduled to be held from January 13 to February 26 next year. Around 450 million pilgrims and tourists are expected to visit Prayagraj this year. Many of them are likely to travel to Ayodhya, Vindhyadham, Kashi and Mathura. Districts belonging to these destinations should complete all necessary preparations in time keeping in view this arrival.
