Elon Musksocial networking platform, X (formerly Twitter), is Restricted More than 5 lakhs Accounts in India. Reuters reported that these accounts were banned for violating several policies set by the social media platforms and that these accounts were banned between January 26 and February 25.
A total of X accounts banned in February
According to the report, the social media platform has banned 5,06,173 accounts promoting child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity. Apart from this, the platform has suspended 1,982 accounts for promoting terrorism.
Combining the two, X banned a total of 5,08,155 accounts in India during the period. Also, the platform has received around 14,421 complaints from Indian users through its grievance redressal mechanism. Besides, about 41 requests regarding account suspension have been raised.
“We have reversed 1 of these account suspensions after reviewing the details of the circumstances. The remaining reported accounts remain suspended,” the company said in its statement.
“We have received 71 requests related to general queries about accounts during this reporting period,” it added.
It is not a new practice for X to ban accounts for policy violations. Between December 26 and January 25, the platform banned around 2,31,215 accounts in India. During the same period, the company banned 1,945 accounts on its platform for promoting terrorism.
Tips to prevent X account from getting banned
To prevent X from removing your account, do not violate the policies set by the platform. Stop posting child sexual abuse and non-consensual nudity.
