Adviser to Chief Minister and Eland MLA BR Patil has urged the state government to name the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (KSRDPRU) in Gadag district after Mahatma Gandhi.
Addressing reporters in Kalaburgi on Wednesday, Mr. Patil urged the state government to name the KSRDPRU of Gadag after Mahatma Gandhi during a program organized to mark the centenary celebrations of the 1924 Belagavi Congress session presided over by Mahatma Gandhi on December 26 and 27 in Belagavi.
He urged the provincial government to take initiatives to reduce the gap between urban and rural areas in all areas.
Drug free India
Mr. Patil once again called for a nationwide ban on liquor and urged the various state governments to put pressure on the Center to ban liquor across the country.
He said that due to the illegal transportation of alcohol from neighboring states, various governments have tried to make alcohol prohibition effective in their respective states and failed, so a nationwide ban on alcohol will be the only solution.
