Teacher Recruitment Board will conduct SET in a transparent manner, Higher Education Minister said

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has adequate administrative and infrastructural facilities to conduct the State Eligibility Test (SET), and will be attended by university teachers, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Govi ​​Chejian said.

It has been decided to conduct the examination through TRB to ensure that the examination is conducted in a transparent manner following the University Grants Commission (UGC) code of conduct.

The minister said that the National Eligibility Test (NET) which was supposed to be conducted by the UGC is now being conducted by an external agency, the National Testing Agency (NTA). TRB has provision to hold the exam online or offline.

On Monday, the minister advised the TRB to seek permission from the UGC to conduct the SET. Until now, a university was given the right to conduct the examination for a period of three years.
