He mentioned Vajpayee’s contribution in technology, social sector and all other fields. In the field of information technology, telecommunication and communication, Modi said, ‘Atal ji made the first serious attempt to bring technology within the reach of common citizens. He connected India lengthwise and breadthwise through Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Metro Project. “Many people remember the Golden Quadrilateral project”, he said. Appreciating Vajpayee’s work to promote unity and integrity, Modi said, “The Vajpayee government not only brought economic growth, but also brought remote areas closer together, promoting unity and integration.”
