In Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has canceled or postponed internal elections in at least 18 blocks across the state after it was revealed that various candidates had shared false information such as their age and criminal records.

The leader said that an appeals committee was formed to look into such complaints and the committee meeting was held to investigate the complaints and action was taken.
Committee chief Vivek Shejwalkar, former Lok Sabha member from Gwalior, confirmed the development. Hindu The committee has submitted its findings to senior leaders.
“Elections have been canceled in some blocks and stopped in some places. We have submitted our report to the concerned leaders. Now the party will analyze the findings and take the final decision, he said.
Asked about the types of violations, Mr. Shejwalkar said they include misrepresenting age or concealing criminal records against them.
“There were some candidates who were not official members of the party or were involved in anti-party activities,” he said.
The BJP had set an age limit of 45 years for block presidents.
Most of the block level elections canceled or stopped are from Seoni district. The list also includes blocks from Badwani, Rajgarh, Tikamgarh, Dhar, Khargone and other districts.
Local reports from various districts also claimed that BJP workers were unhappy with the process as they alleged that people from the Congress were given preference.
The BJP is currently conducting internal elections across the country which will culminate with the election of its national president.
