Rape and connection case filed with gangster Nike Lawrence Bishnoi, Punjab man presents chat in defense of police officer, SC grants bail | Chandigarh news

The Supreme Court recently granted bail to a man from Punjab who was not only charged in a rape case but also accused of threatening the complainant by allegedly taking advantage of his relationship with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

As part of his bail plea, the accused presented alleged evidence, including WhatsApp chats and call records, made by an SP-level Punjab Police officer to the woman who had lodged a rape complaint.

The accused claimed that he was in a live-in relationship with the complainant, who later developed a relationship with a police officer. According to the accused, the officer used his influence with the police to frame the woman in a false case of rape and intimidation.

“There is no evidence to suggest that the petitioner threatened the complainant in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. She fabricated a false story to implicate the petitioner under the influence of an officer working in the police department. The motive behind the false implication is clear from the WhatsApp chat and video recording, as the officer was in a relationship with the complainant and tolerated the petitioner’s relationship with him. Couldn’t,” said RK Grewal, advocate for the petitioner, speaking to The Indian. Express.
