Ronit Roy played the role of Bhishma in the legendary TV show Kahaani Hamare Mahabharat Ki. However, actor Mukesh Khanna is not satisfied with his performance. Khanna played the same character in the iconic television series Mahabharata, and considers himself an authority on the subject. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, he criticized Rohit’s performance and even called out Ekta Kapoor for making a ‘dishonest show’ for the audience.
Talking about why the TV show failed to hit the right chords, Khanna said, “If you look at the Pandavas and their costumes in Ekta Kapoor’s show, they looked like models, exposing their bodies. Bheem neither looked like Bheem nor Arjuna. If you look at the five of them together, you can’t remember who was who.

He added, ‘The casting has not been done well. Ronit Roy was a star at that time, so he was given the character of Bhishma. He may not have even read the Mahabharata, I don’t know. Because, I remember I read in a magazine, when someone asked him if he would watch Mukesh Khanna’s earlier performance, he replied, ‘No, I don’t watch anyone’s performance’. I felt good Let’s be a confident actor (He is a confident actor). I was impressed.”
he continued. ‘When the serial came out, he had a bandage on his forehead, he looked like Sikandar, not Bhishma. There was no paternal devotion. When you see the character, you have to believe from within, but I didn’t feel that way. Read Mahabharata first. This is an epic, you have to live the character. Someone came and told me, ‘The man playing the role of Bhishma is trying to imitate you. I said, ‘What will the poor do? He has no context. “
Kahaani Hamare Mahabharat Ki is a television series produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms and aired in 2008. Accusing Ekta Kapoor of ‘ruining’ Mahabharata, Mukesh said, “I told Ekta, ‘Destroyed the Mahabharata (You ruined it). Draupadi had a tattoo! When I saw that, I was scared. There was no honesty in that show.”
