Notably, the divorce case of the couple was going on in the Jaunpur family court.
According to a report by Immortal lightNikita Singhania told the court that her marriage with Atul Subhash was forced by her parents. Singhania further revealed that his father was suffering from heart problems for the past 10 years and was undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
She further claimed that she was forced to marry Subhash under the pressure of her father’s illness and was “harassed” at her in-law house, the report said. Singhania claimed that her mother Nisha Singhania calls her 5-6 times a day and incites her against her father-in-law.
Atul and Nikita got married on 26 June 2019 at Hindustan International Hotel in Varanasi. After the wedding, the couple went to Mauritius for their honeymoon, the expenses of which were borne by Atul himself.
Atul Subhash, 34, committed suicide in Bengaluru earlier this month. Earlier, he had posted a video accusing his wife Nikita and her family of harassment and coercion. Furthermore, he also left a 24-page suicide note, detailing the events that prompted him to take the extreme step.
Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania are currently in police custody and the matter is under investigation.
