Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday warned of jailing land grabbers.
He expressed his commitment to take the necessary steps to solve the land problem in an amicable manner and said that he would follow the rules of the government.
Stating that the errors in the re-survey would be rectified soon, Naidu said his government’s aim was ‘justice to all’.
“You have elected the Telugu Desam-led alliance to form the government with 57 per cent votes. You have reposed immense faith in us. We have been working hard for the last six months to fulfill your aspirations,” Naidu said.
Expressing regret that the previous government had completely destroyed all the arrangements, the Chief Minister felt that the YSRC government had created a worse situation with the Land Rights Act.
He said that more than three lakh people participated in Revenue Sadasulu and 95,263 applications were received.
Naidu promised to provide QRcode in passbook and geotagging facility through which land records can be checked anytime. He said that 12 crore rupees should be spent to remove the picture of former Chief Minister Jagan Reddy placed on the stone.
From December 6 to January 8, revenue is being conducted smoothly in almost all the villages of the state.
Naidu promised to take personal responsibility to return all the occupied lands to the rightful owners. He said that the provisions of the Land Encroachment Act are so serious that strict action will be taken against illegal land grabbers.
He also referred to widespread complaints of wrong survey and fraud in land transactions and said that 279 thousand 148 complaints have been received.
The Chief Minister said that the government has introduced the Land Grabbing Prohibition Act, 2024, which will deal strictly with those who try to grab someone’s land illegally.
“Those who occupy land illegally will be punished severely with imprisonment and fine depending on the value of the land seized,” he warned.
