The minister has pledged full support to invest in AP tourism

VijayawadaTourism Minister Kandula Durgesh has said that the coalition government is ready to provide full support to investors in the tourism sector.

The new tourism policy 2024-2029 has been prepared to establish Andhra Pradesh as the top state in the tourism sector, he said while participating in the Tourism Investor Engagement Program of APTDC.

The program was held here on Tuesday in collaboration with AP Chamber of Commerce, AP Hotels Association and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Durgesh emphasized on building world-class infrastructure to make AP a major tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists and said that the government has introduced a new investor-friendly tourism policy.

He said that the new tourism policy has been made after a thorough study of the best policies of other provinces and the policies of previous states.

More than 200 investors from different states participated in the program and expressed their willingness to invest in the tourism sector of AP.

Outlining the salient features of the new tourism policy, Durgesh said the state aims to develop 25 thematic circuits comprising 10 temples, five beaches, four rivers, three ecotourism, and two Buddha and cruise circuits.

Additionally, the plan includes seven anchor tourist hubs, with Visakhapatnam and Tirupati occupying the spot. He urged the investors to invest in AP without any hindrance or fear as the government would provide all kinds of support.

Tourism Secretary Vijay Chand and APTDC Managing Director Amrapali Kata gave information about the investment opportunities available in the tourism sector in a PowerPoint presentation. APTDC President Nukasani Balaji, CII President Rama Krishna, AP Chamber President Bhaskar Rao and AP Hotels Association President RV Swamy were present.
