India reached 167-6 at lunch on the fourth day

Brisbane: After opener KL Rahul scored a strong 84 runs, India made it 6-6 at lunch on the fourth day of the third Test against Australia on Tuesday. India resumed at 51 for 4 and lost captain Rohit Sharma (10) early but opener Rahul stopped the game. At the other end, brought up his 17th Test fifty off 85 balls.

With all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja (41) and Nitish Reddy (7) at the crease at the lunch break, India are still 278 runs behind.

On the first ball of the day Rahul was dismissed by Steve Smith off Pat Cummins and hit 8 fours off 139 balls. He was dismissed by Nathan Lyon and Smith redeemed himself with a blinder in the slips.

The five match series has been tied at 1-1.
