Former Australia batsman Simon Katich did not mince his words on Mohammad Siraj’s poor bowling against centurion Travis Head on the second day of the third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba.
In the first ball of the 60th over, Siraj hit short on the head and the southpaw hit it to the boundary.
Katich, who is commenting for 7 Cricket, has criticized Siraj’s poor decision.
“It’s unbelievable from Mohamed Siraj,” Katich said.
“It’s dumb. Dumb cricket!”

“Because he had a man in that spot before the over, and he ran and bowled what they had planned without the fielder there.
“That’s stupid. Stupid cricket.
“They’ve got two men out on the leg side, they’ve got deep point, they’ve had a man in that spot for this very planned Travis Head, and then he doesn’t have a fielder.
“And now he’s going to take the fielder back there.
“Horse bolt, mate.”
Simon Katich also criticized Mohammad Siraj for sending off Travis Head in the pink ball Test in Adelaide.
“It’s a shame that Siraj’s mind has faded a bit… there’s no need for that in the game,” Katich told SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“Will he regret it Siraj…”
Mohammad Siraj has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee, while Travis Head has also been “sanctioned” by the ICC for exchanging harsh words during the day-night Test. After a disciplinary hearing, Siraj and Head were found guilty of violating the code of conduct of the world body.
