A robust anti-drone system has been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees at Mahakumbh 2025, with experts deployed at a central location to monitor all drones in the vicinity.
The anti-drone system was activated on Friday and successfully intercepted two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Uttar Pradesh government said in a statement.
The statement said, ‘Experts have been roped in to manage the anti-drone system.
These experts are stationed at a central location, constantly monitoring all drones in the vicinity. They have the capability to disable any suspicious drone mid-flight if necessary, the statement said.
“The anti-drone system has been activated in the Mahakumbh Mela area. On the first day on Friday, two drones flying without permission were successfully shot down and deactivated by the hi-tech system. A notice has been issued to the operators,’ said Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi.
“Drones will not be allowed to fly in the Mahakumbh Nagar Mela area without prior approval. Any drone operation requires prior permission from the police. He said that strict action will be taken if drones are found operating without permission.
