NEET UG 2025: Does NTA Ask Frequent Questions? | Education News

– Gaurav Sharma

The National Testing Agency (NTA) ranks the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) among the toughest medical entrance exams in India. Lakhs of students study for the same every year, and many ask whether NTA repeats previous year papers.

NTA does not repeat word-for-word; Instead, it uses the same patterns over and over again. They often follow common topics, concepts, or question types from previous years. For example, if a particular formula or concept was very relevant in an earlier paper, its question will likely arise again.

Why is this happening?

Curriculum is limited

NEET UG questions are taken from NCERT syllabus for class 11 and 12. Since the syllabus is limited, the range of completely new questions is also limited.

Focus on key areas

NEET tests students’ knowledge about basic subjects. This means that certain core areas such as genetics, mechanics, and chemical bonding are always concentrated.

– There will be mostly following types of questions: Inheritance Patterns, DNA Structure, Plant Physiology in Biology.

– Periodic trend questions, chemical reaction types or organic chemistry mechanisms are often repeated in style in chemistry.

– Newton’s laws, motion, and thermodynamics appear in almost any physics paper

Practice previous year papers

Studying past NEET papers makes you aware of the type of questions you are likely to face. This helps in both efficiency and accuracy.

Focus should be on high weight subjects because they are frequent. To be able to give similar answers, practice conceptual understanding, not just memorizing answers.
