Allu Arjun’s lawyer criticizes Jail administration over Pushpa 2 star’s ‘illegal detention’ bail, denies ‘mistreatment’ of star by police | Telugu News

Controversy over Allu Arjun’s arrest Taking a new turn, the actor’s lawyer criticized the jail administration for his “illegal detention” after bail. Allu Arjun’s lawyer has strongly opposed the actor’s detention, calling it “illegal” and vowing to take further action. In a statement to PTI, the lawyer stressed that they would take “legal steps” in response to the detention.

Allu Arjun was taken into custody on Friday afternoon for the tragic death of a fan in a stampede at the premiere of his latest film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. Although the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail later that evening, the actor was not released from jail till Saturday morning, on charges of unnecessary detention.

The actor’s lawyer told ANI, “The copy of the High Court order has directed the jail superintendent to release Allu Arjun immediately and the superintendent has directed to ensure the release but despite the order…they are not releasing him.”

Speaking to PTI after Arjun’s release, lawyer Reddy said, “You have to question the government and the department why they didn’t release the accused. The High Court order is very specific. Immediately, the moment you (prison authorities) get the order (they) should release him.” They have not left even though there is a clear order. This is illegal detention. We will take legal action.”

However, the Hyderabad police have a different version of the incident. According to them, Arjun’s act led to a stampede at the Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad, in which a fan died and his son was seriously injured.

“Clarification regarding media circulation of letter dated 04/05-12-2024 by Sandhya Cine Enterprises 70 MM to ACP Chikkadapally requesting bandbust regarding the release of Pushpa 2. We have received several requests for bandbust citing the visit of some political persons. Personalities, Movies It is beyond our resources to provide bandobast for celebrities, religious events etc Yes. Every incident,” Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Hyderabad City, said in a press release.

After giving the details of the incident that led to the stampede, the police denied the allegation of ill-treatment while arresting Arjun. They said, ‘Another issue is that the police personnel abused Allu Arjun while arresting him is also not true. When the police reached his residence, he asked for some time to change his clothes. He entered his bedroom, when he came out, the police personnel detained him. He was not abused or abused by any police personnel. He was given enough time to communicate with his family and wife before he got out on his own and entered the police car.

After his release from jail on Saturday morning, Allu Arjun briefly addressed the media before returning to his home in Hyderabad, where his family awaited his arrival. He said, “First of all, I want to thank everyone for their immense love and support. I thank my fans. I’m fine, nothing to worry about. I am a law abiding citizen, respect the law, cooperate and do the necessary work. I would like to express my condolences to the family, it is very unfortunate, we went to see a movie and we lost a person in an unfortunate incident. It was completely out of my personal control. I have been going to watch my films for the last 20 years, I have been there 30 times. I will be there to support the family as much as possible. I know we will never cover the loss, but I will do what I can. I thank everyone for the support,” PTI reported.
