In celebration of Raj Kapoor’s centenary, Indian cinema’s legendary showman, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt embodied vintage glam in a 60s callback. The event, a film festival held in Mumbai, celebrated 100 years of Raj Kapoor’s life and his extraordinary contribution to cinema.
Ranveer, known for his sartorial elegance, was seen in a midnight black velvet bandhgala complemented by a charcoal gray satin pocket square. However, it was his luscious mustache that became the highlight of his look, adding a dash of old-world charm. Alia BhattOn the other hand, the custom Sabyasachi looked like a vision in a white saree, with a delicate lilac border and pastel floral motifs painted all over. A pearl choker, soft curls in her hair and bronzed skin added to her radiant charm.
Sharing the details on Instagram, Alia’s stylist Ami Patel wrote, “Straight out of a black and white dream pays homage to @aliaabhatt. The celebration was a family affair, with Kareena Kapoor Khan And Saif Ali Khan adding his regal charm. Kareena wore an exquisite off-white and red salwar by Iqbal Hussain, accessorized with gold jewellery, while Saif looked dapper in a black bandhgala suit. Karisma Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni and Neetu Kapoor were also present at the event.
Earlier in the week, the Kapoor family traveled to Delhi to personally invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the film festival. Alia stunned in a custom red Mallikai saree from Anvila’s Paynam collection, while Ranveer opted for a classic black suit paired with a crisp white shirt. Kareena also stood out in a red hand painted Chanderi silk kurta set by Dev Nagri.
