A physically challenged woman was burnt to death in Laharwadi village of Haryana’s Nuh district in a violent clash between two groups over the arrest of an eight-month-old murder accused, police said on Saturday.
The family of the woman, identified as Shahnaz, has alleged that she was burnt by a rival group. A 24-year-old woman who could not walk died on the spot.

The police said that after the incident on Friday, the tension in the village increased and a large number of policemen were mobilized to maintain peace.
According to the police, eight months ago in Laharwadi village, a young man named Rizwan was killed due to a dispute over throwing soil in the field.
There was a clash between the group supporting the victim and the accused on Friday and the woman Shahnaz belongs to the family of the accused.
Punhana police registered a case against 24 people involved in Rizwan’s murder and arrested three people named Salim, Muttal and Mojuda, while the rest fled from the village.
“On Thursday, both the parties were called to Panna police station for questioning, where DSP Pradeep Kumar was also present… There were many other villagers… Some people in the village wanted the accused to return to the village,” said a senior. police officer
After the murder accused reached the village on Friday afternoon, Rizwan’s family protested and two groups pelted stones at each other.
Shahnaz’s brother Nisar has accused Rizwan’s family of burning him alive by sprinkling petrol on him and he died on the spot. However, the other side has claimed that the woman committed self-immolation.
