Monday is often the litmus test of any movie’s opening week. On the first day, be it Thursday or Friday, there is a fixed opening depending on the range of names included. Weekends have also been allocated keeping in mind the mindset of the audience who watch movies during the holidays. The real strength of the movie is seeing how well it does on the first working day after its opening weekend, which for all intents and purposes is the first Monday. Many films this year have failed to carry the opening weekend’s momentum into the following week, and Monday’s numbers proved to be the benchmark for a film’s final run. Now, Pushpa 2: The Rules Juggernaut is facing its first big challenge. And as per initial reports, the movie has earned around Rs 20 crore in advance bookings on morning shows.

A weekday morning occupancy rate of around 23.75% for the Telugu version and 22.42% for the Hindi version is a strong performance. It won’t be surprising if the movie released across the country manages to score the same number as the first Friday. In the domestic market, Pushpa 2 collected Rs 93.8 crore on its second day (Friday) in all 6 versions, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. So, it is expected that the numbers will be similar on Monday, and eventually push the global collection to around Rs 900 crore.
If this pattern continues, Flower 2: Rules It can reach the 1000 crore club within a week of its release. It has already become the fastest film to break the 600 crore club, and it continues to break records at the office as of next Monday. Comparatively, Prabhas’ domestic figure Kalki 2898 AD, which is the highest grossing film of the year, stood at Rs 494.5 crore at the end of its first week. Pushpa 2: The Rule crossed the 500 crore mark in India. Within four days of release.
