Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday “interviewed” two Congress MPs wearing masks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani in Parliament to discuss the allegations against the Adani Group founder.
Manickam Tagore wore an Adani mask while Saptagiri Shankar Ulaka wore a Modi mask when Gandhi interviewed them in the Parliament premises.
In a video of the interview shared online by the Congress, Gandhi can be heard asking, “Aaj kal kya ho raha hai bhai? (What is happening today brother).
Placing his arms around Ula, Tagore says, “Mai jo bhi bolta hu, ye karta hai. Main kuch bhi chahta hoon, port chahiye, airport chahiye (Whatever I say, he does. Whatever I want – airport or port).
Gandhi then asks, “What are you asking for now?”
To this, Tagore says, “We meet in the evening.”
Gandhi then asks Tagore about their relationship, to which Tagore says, “We are the same. We will do everything together… We have been together for years.
Gandhi then asks Tagore, dressed as Adani, why he (Modi) is not letting Parliament run “because of him (Adani)”.
“That man is missing. Amit Bhai did not come to the House. We have to ask Amit Bhai. Whatever I say, he does,” said Tagore, gesturing to Ulaka.
“He (pointing to Ulaka wearing Modi’s mask) doesn’t talk much these days,” says Gandhi, as other opposition MPs laugh in unison.
The incident took place during a protest at Makarduar of the Parliament complex where the opposition MPs demanded to discuss the US charges against Gautam Adani in the Parliament.
This came on the same day when opposition BRS MLAs in the Telangana Assembly protested against the passing of T-shirts bearing the images of Revanth Reddy and Gautam Adani, alleging an “unholy nexus” between the chief minister and the industrialist.
