External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday met Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and held “productive” talks on bilateral relations and developments in Gaza and Syria.
Jaishankar went to Doha to participate in the Doha Forum on the invitation of Foreign Minister Al Thani.
“Delighted to meet PM & FM of Qatar @MBA_AlThani_ in Doha today,” Jaishankar said in a post on X.
“A fruitful discussion on our bilateral relations and ongoing efforts to further strengthen them. They exchanged views on the developments in Gaza, Syria and the region, he said.
The minister also met the chairman of the World Economic Forum, Borge Brende, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum.

Jaishankar also held a bilateral meeting with his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos.
“It was a pleasure to meet the FM of Cyprus @ckombos today. Talked about the developments in the Mediterranean as well as our bilateral partnership,” he said.
The minister also met with Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani and Minister of State Ahmed Al Sayed.
He met with his Norwegian counterpart Aspen Barth Ide on the sidelines of the Doha Forum.
Earlier, Jaishankar participated in a Doha Forum panel titled “Conflict Resolution in the New Era”.
From Doha, the Foreign Minister will visit Bahrain on December 8-9, where he will co-chair the fourth India-Bahrain High Joint Commission (HJC) with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayni.
