Vrajesh Hirji claims he didn’t pay half his fee for Vasu Bhagnani’s ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’: ‘That’s sad’ | Bollywood news

Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein was not a big hit at the box office when it was released but has gained a huge following over the years. Produced by Vasu Bhagnani and directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon, the film starred Dia Mirza, R Madhavan and others. Vrajesh Hirji acted in an important role. In a recent interview, Vrajesh said that he was given only half of the promised amount for the film. He also compared Vasu to producer Rakesh Roshan who paid him more than promised after ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ became a big hit.

In a conversation with Cyrus Brocha on his YouTube channel, Vrajesh said, “Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein did not become the cult it is today. This hastily released clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Ashok. I thought it would inspire me to do something, but nothing happened. I had hope.” After this Cyrus immediately asked, “Did you get paid?” and in response, Vrajesh replied, “No. I didn’t even get half of my money in Rehna Hai Tere Dil. That’s a sore point.”

Saying this, the actor added that he was paid extra after one of his films did well as he did not lose hope in humanity. But, I got paid for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. In fact, after the film was released and became a hit, I was paid more than expected. So, there are some people who are honest and decent,” he said.

Vasu Bhagnani has been mired in controversies since the release of his film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. He is currently involved in a case with the film’s director, Ali Abbas Zafar. Made on a huge budget of over 350 crores, this film earned less than 600 crores.

For the unknown, in February 2021, Vashu signed a four-film deal with Akshay, including the action-comedy BMCM. In November, he approached Ali to direct and write the film. However, Mehra and Akesh Ranadive asked to work together with Mehra saying that they manage their accounts and audits.

Allegedly, they promised to submit all expenses to the manufacturer for advance approval, but allegedly cheated by submitting construction documents showing excessive expenses. The complaint states that the film’s VFX budget was fixed at Rs 18 crore but was increased to Rs 42 crore. Further, the production cost was pegged at Rs 125 crore, which rose to Rs 154 crore.

Now, the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court has directed the local police to register an FIR against Ali Abbas Zafar, co-producer Himanshu Mehra and others. They have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating, cheating, criminal defamation, and criminal intimidation under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Vasu Bhagnani has several alleged non-payment claims against his production Pooja Entertainment.
