Khoda Police Station House Officer (SHO) Anand Prakash Mishra said, “Indraraj initially said his name was Raju and that he was kidnapped 30 years ago. He claimed that he was held hostage by Sai Ram, a shepherd of Jailsalmer. He alleged that he was forced to take care of sheep and cows as a wage laborer.
“He alleged that a truck driver rescued him and helped him reach Delhi,” Mishra added. Indraraj then said that the truck driver helped him reach the Khoda police station.
The SHO said that after he reached the police station on November 22, the police released his photo on social media and newspapers for identification purposes.
After this, Tularam’s wife Lilavati identified him as her son Bheem, who was abducted while returning from school in 1993. Police said the mole on his chest, cut marks on his forehead and the shape of his head helped him identify Lilavati as his son.
DCP (Trans-Hindon) Dasharath Nimish Patil said, “During questioning, he kept saying that he was Bhim. But on repeated questioning, he said his real name was Indraraj of Jasad Bugia village in Jaitsar.
He said, ‘When he was young, he started committing petty thefts in the neighborhood due to which his father Chunnilal Meghwal and other family members cut ties with him and threw him out of the house in 2005. .
According to Indraraj, the police said that in 2020, he stayed at Hetram’s house for three months and stole important documents and jewelery before escaping.
“An FIR was registered at Rawatsar police station in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, after which stolen goods and documents were recovered from Indraraj’s possession,” the official said.
The official added that last June, Indraraj posed as Pankaj Kumar, the missing son of a family residing in Jhigar Chhoti village in Rajasthan’s Sikar district. He stayed with the family for about two months. “He then left without informing anyone,” Patil said. The police added that Indraraj had also lived as a prodigal son in the house of one Asharam in Rajasthan’s Lalgadia village about four years ago.
In July 2024, Indraraj arrives at Kapil Dev Sharma and Asha’s house in Dehradun claiming to be Kapil Dev Sharma and his son who went missing in 2008. Posing as Monu, he stayed there for about four months before coming to Delhi to “seek better opportunities”. .
“He was living with various families in Bathinda in Punjab, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan and Hisar and Sirsa in Haryana as his missing son. His involvement in other crimes is also being investigated,” the DCP said.
