The Google Pixel 9 series of phones are some of the best smartphones of the year. While these devices are aimed at those who want a premium device, the company’s significantly less expensive ‘A’ series appeals to a wider audience. As it turns out, the next-generation ‘a’ series phone, likely to be called the Pixel 9a, will have a redesigned camera island.
According to a recent post shared on X by a user named ‘Fennybook’, the Pixel 9a will ditch the iconic camera visor and instead sport a slightly stretched oval-shaped bezel that houses the rear cameras, with the flashlight slightly aligned. To the right of the center of the device.

The center of the device has a different logo instead of the usual “G”, but it is not uncommon for prototype devices to have different logos. The image also suggests that Google will continue to differentiate its mid-range ‘A’ series phones by slapping thick bezels on the front.
As for hardware, the Pixel 9a is rumored to feature a Tensor G4 chipset with a slightly less powerful modem. Speculations also suggest that the phone will sport a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is rumored to come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired and 7.5 wireless charging support.
On the camera front, the phone is said to have a 48MP primary camera with a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The Pixel 9a could arrive sometime in March, but we suggest you take this information with a grain of salt as Google has yet to confirm any of it.
