Bengaluru Metro Rail Service will start early on Sunday, December 8, on account of the examination for the post of Panchayat Development Officer conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Breaking the rule of starting at 7 am on Sundays, the metro service will start at 5.30 am, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said on Thursday.

To facilitate the candidates appearing for KPSC-Development Officer (PDO) Examination on 08.12.2024 (Sunday), BMRCL will start train services from 07:00 AM instead of 05:30 AM from all its four terminals Madwara, Silk Institute. Chhallaghatta and Whitefield (Kadugodi) metro stations,” BMRCL said in a statement.

“Also, the first train will start from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic at 05:30 in all directions. During this period i.e. between 5.30 am and 7.00 am trains will run at a frequency of 30 minutes,” said BMRCL.

Trains will run as scheduled after 7 am.

Bengaluru Metro runs normal operations on weekdays from 5 am to 11 pm with a frequency of three to five minutes during peak hours. On holidays and second and fourth Saturdays, trains run at 10 to 15 minute intervals from 5 am to 7 am and then at a frequency of eight minutes until about 9 pm.

BMRCL extends the timings of major events in Bangalore like cricket matches and New Year’s Eve.
