10 killed in two road accidents in UP’s Pilivit, Chitrakoot Bharat News

At least 10 people were killed and around a dozen injured in separate road accidents that occurred in Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning, police said.

In Pilivit, a car carrying 11 people rammed into a tree in the area under Neoria police station, resulting in the death of five passengers, a senior police officer said.

“Some people from Khatima in Uttarakhand had come here to attend the wedding. They were returning in a Maruti Ertiga car with 11 occupants. The car lost control and hit a roadside tree,” Superintendent of Police (Pilibhit) Avinash Kumar Pandey told PTI video.

He said, “The doctor has informed that three people died in the hospital and two died during treatment,” he said.

Pandey said that four of the injured were referred to a state-of-the-art center for further treatment and two were discharged after first aid.

He said, ‘Possible treatment services have been provided to the injured.

Chitrakoot Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said five people were killed when a Mahindra Bolero and a truck collided.

“The incident took place at 5.30 am in Raipura police station area. The Bolero was coming from Prayagraj and the truck from Raipura,’ said Singh.

“There were 11 people on the Bolero, out of which five have died so far and the rest are undergoing treatment locally. They have been referred to the district hospital for further treatment, said the SP.

Police said that legal action has been initiated in both cases.
