An off-duty Army jawan was injured in firing by militants in the Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, officials said.
Delher Mushtaq, a resident of Aripal area of Tral, was hit by two bullets in his leg. They said that the incident happened near his house in Sofigund.
Mushtaq was taken to hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
The soldier was on leave and had come home to spend time with his family. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers, officials said.
